Confidence

 
The country is the United States of American. A business man was greatly in debt and couldn’t find a way out. The bank was closing in a on him and suppliers wanted payment. He became so in debt he had lost all confidence in making any sales what so ever.
One day the business man took a walk in the park, he found his way to a rusted old park bench over looking a swampy river. He sat down, loosened his tie and unbuttoned his shirt. His head in his hands he sat there wondering what he could do. Almost out of nowhere appeared a man, his hair was slicked back and he wore a all white suit. He gave off a vibe of cockiness and greed,
“What seems to be the problem” said the man
He sat down next to the business man and he explain his situation .The man replied with,
“I think I can help”.
He pulled out his check book, ask for the guys name and wrote him a check,
“ Take this check” said the man, “meet me at this same park bench one year from now and you can pay me back then”.
As fast as the man had arrived he had disappeared.
In his hand he saw a check written in his name and a number of $500,000.
He realized that he could pay off all of his debt with this one check, but instead the man put the check in his safe. Knowing that it was there was going to give him the strength to pull himself out of debt.
With a different mind frame he made better sales and was able to pay off some of his debt. Within just a few months, the business man was making money again.
Exactly one year later the man returned to the bench. As promised there once more appeared the man in an all white suit. Just as the business man was about to hand back the check, a nurse ran up,
“I found you” she cried, “ I’m so sorry if he bug you. He’s always escaping and handing out money he doesn’t even have”.
Just then the man realized something. It wasn’t the half a million dollars he had in his safe, it was his new self confidence that had lead him to pulling himself out of debt. That is what made all the difference.

Reflection

Through my flash fiction I wanted to give the readers a better understanding of how confidence can solve everything. I wanted the audience to understand that without confidence you can't perform to the best of your ability. When the business man finds himself greatly in debt he finds it more and more challenging to make the little sales which he has to thrive on. In doing so he loses all confidence in himself and he starts questioning his abilities as a business man, but as the story goes on the business man makes bigger sales and starts gaining confidence knowing that if all else fails he can cash that check and all of his problems will be solved.By gaining his confidence back the business man pulls himself out of debt without cashing the 500 00 dollar check. This proves that a little confidence can go along way in solving your problems...
