"The Hunger Games"
" They think there better then everyone else."

The movie "The Hunger Games " has some great example of overconfidence. It represents quotation 2 by Alberto Salazar. "The Hunger Games" is set in the future, where Katniss and her family live in one of twelve districts being run by the capitol. Each year the names of all children between the ages of twelve and eighteen are put into a lottery, one boy and one girl are picked to represent their district in the Hunger Games. The twenty four children are forced to fight to the death and the last one standing wins. When Prim (Katniss's sister) is selected, Katniss steps up and takes her place in the deadly composition. When Katniss reaches the training facility for the Hunger Games she catches up with the other twenty three students and finds out some of the students aren't as unconfined in there abilities as she may have hoped so. This is where the excerpt from above comes in, " They think there better then everyone else." The quote by Albero  Salazar from above talks about people having overconfidence in there abilities because they have done the training necessary to make them higher ranked then everyone else. This seems to me that district one thinks there the best out there because they have trained longer and they believe they can conquered the games faster and better then any other district. This can also reflect back to my novel "The Road" as the students from district one share similar traits to the father such as, their carelessness for others and mind frame that their better than everyone else because of there training and experience. Just as well, Captain Torress from my short fiction connects to the mind frame of district one because he too thinks he has achieve a higher level of success away from the barber because the task presented to him has been taken over by Captain Torress. When confidence just isn't enough, the only step higher is overconfidence...
Early in my career I was accused of being overconfident and even cocky, but I really was confident that I had done the training and didn't see any other reason to say otherwise.
