Early in my career I was accused of being overconfident and even cocky, but I really was confident that I had done the training and didn't see any other reason to say otherwise.

"Do I look like an imbecile to you?"
"I dont know what you look like."
"Why are you looking at him?"
"I Can look where I want to."
"No you cant. If you look at him again ill shoot you."

...The thought of a son and father serving a world wide epidemic is amazing to me, when you consider what there had to go through to be one of few survivors. The father in this story can reflect back to Alberto Salazar (speaker in quotation 2) as both personalities can be traced back to overconfidence. The father seemed to have a pretty normal child hood, he lived with both his parents, grow up in a well rounded home, probability played ball. However, This compares nothing to what his eight year old son is going through . In fact, due to his mother missing or dead and living off the street hunting game, the boys life has been the totally opposite of his fathers. To make matters worse the drop in temperature forced the little boy and his father to travel down south towards warmer climates. The thought of this amazes me, a young boy and his father traveling thousands of miles with nothing but a grocery cart of supplies down a highway, not even knowing they'll survive the trip down there. When the boy and the father come across a abandon camper on the side of the road, they find out there not alone. A group of mischief teens have driven the father and son into the woods for there grocery cart of supplies. This is where the dialogue from above comes into play,"Do I look like an imbecile to you? I don't know what you look like. Why are you looking at him? I Can look where I want to.No you cant. If you look at him again ill shoot you."(McCarthy, 65)  This dialogue shows the anger in the father and maybe even some overconfidence. The quote above explains people just like the father overly believe in them self when faced with a task they have done may times before. If Alberto didn't break a world record, or didn't even win a race in his life, the thought in his mind would be much difference of that he has now because of the way he has presented himself. Another person presented in my tapestry that contain this trait as well is Captain Torress from my short story. Just as the father, Captain Torress was face with a task that he has achieved many times before, and because of this it leads him to overly believe in himself thus giving him the thought the barber wouldn't kill him. When you told your the best and achieve high levels of success the path to overconfidence is hard to resist...
